About Us

The Culture Vulture orginally began as a bi-monthly calendar listing to help families with children find interesting, affordable, age appropriate events happening in and around the Los Angeles area.

Founder and mom, Jána Howard, had always felt a strong need to expose her children to art and culture of all kinds. She distributed the calendar listing at her children's school, where parents passed it along to friends at other schools and The Culture Vulture took off. The demand grew fast, some parents saying that they "couldn't live without it."

So...theculturevulture.org was created to make the information more readily available—giving families the immediate resources they need to enrich the lives of their kids in a fun and entertaining way.
